2. What data we collect and why

We collect the minimum personal data necessary to provide our services:

• Contact data: name, email, phone, and country collected via forms and checkout. Used to provide services, respond to inquiries, and communicate about your project. Legal basis: performance of contract and legitimate interests.
• Transaction data: records of services purchased and payments made. Retained for accounting and tax purposes. Legal basis: legal compliance.
• Project files: documents you submit for translation. Used solely to perform the requested service. Treated as strictly confidential. Legal basis: performance of contract.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited. Collected via server logs. Legal basis: legitimate interests (security).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to: provide and deliver translation services; communicate about your project; process payments; respond to inquiries; comply with legal obligations; and improve our services via aggregated usage data. We do not use your submitted documents to train AI models or build shared databases.

4. Who we share your data with

We share data only where necessary: assigned translators and reviewers (bound by project NDAs); Stripe (payment processing only, their privacy policy applies); our hosting provider (US-based, encrypted servers); tax and accounting advisors as required by law. We do not sell personal data.

5. Data retention

• Client and transaction records: 7 years from last transaction (US tax law requirement)
• Project files: 5 years from delivery, or earlier if you request deletion
• Inquiry records (no purchase): 12 months, then deleted
• Server logs: 90 days

6. Your rights

Under applicable US state privacy laws and where GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email privacy@partytranslator.com to exercise any rights. We respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures including encrypted file transfers, access controls, and mandatory project NDAs for all translators. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable steps to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

8. Changes

We may update this policy and will update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated by email to existing clients.
