partytranslator started in South Louisiana in 2016 after one of our founders spent two years watching immigration petitions get delayed, contracts become unenforceable, and clinical trials get slowed down because translation agencies sent the work to whoever was available in the right language.
The problem was not the translation. The problem was the translator. A legal contract does not need a bilingual person. It needs a bilingual lawyer. A pharmaceutical protocol does not need a Spanish speaker. It needs a Spanish-speaking pharmacist or clinical researcher. The difference matters every time.
We built partytranslator around specialist assignment. Every project goes to a translator who has worked in the field being translated, not just studied the vocabulary. It is a slower, more expensive approach to staffing than using a pool of generalist translators. It is also the approach that produces work that passes without revision requests.
